In our Kids Rookie Session, your kids progress from beginners to confident surfers! It’s the perfect next step after the First-Timer Kids session. In a safe environment and with age-appropriate coaching in small groups, kids further develop their surfing skills and gain more confidence on the wave.
We reinforce the fundamentals of paddling, take-off, and board control while introducing first directional changes on unbroken waves. Safety, fun, and fast learning progress are always our top priorities.

  • Gently breaking beginner waves in shallow water
  • Age 6–10 years (kids older than 10 are best suited for our regular Rookie surf session)
  • 45 min. briefing, theory & activation; 60 min. in the wave pool; 15 min. de-briefing
  • Maximum 5 kids per surf coach, maximum 10 kids in total per surf zone
  • Coaching by a professional surf coach
  • Price from 95,- €

Suitable for

Ideal for kids who have already successfully surfed their first whitewater waves from start to finish and now want to improve their take-offs and learn their first turns.

Session objectives

  • Surf Knowledge: Basic surfing techniques
  • Paddling & Catching Waves: Fundamental paddling technique
  • Take-off: Safe and correct take-off technique
  • Stance & Speed: Improved stance and board control in whitewater waves
  • Wave Sections: Riding whitewater waves at an angle
  • Maneuvers: Introduction to directional changes
  • Progression: Depending on fitness and learning ability, 1–3 lessons (minimum required to meet the criteria of the next surf level)

Preconditions

Please check whether you fulfil the following requirements before booking.

  • Age 6-10 years (Kids Session)
    (Kids who are older than 10 years are ideally catered for in our regular First-Timer surf session)
  • Ability to swim (at least 25 metres) and no fear of water & waves
  • No acute injury or illness

All in This is included in your surf session:

  • Surf Equipment
    For your surf session you will receive a softboard that is easy to learn on, a high-quality wetsuit from our partner RipCurl and a surf helmet.
  • Professional coaching
    Our friendly and licensed surf coaches will support you during the entire surf session to help you learn quickly.
  • Safe learning environment
    Our professional lifeguards will ensure your safety at all times. We will provide you with safety equipment such as a helmet and leash.
  • Day ticket and wristband
    When you check in, you will receive a high-quality SURFTOWN wristband that gives you access to the outdoor area of the surf park for the whole day.
  • Changing rooms & lockers
    The use of our changing rooms with showers, lockers and valuables lockers is included in your ticket.
  • Perfect waves
    You get a guaranteed number of wave attempts due to a limited group size, as well as perfectly suitable waves for your surfing level.

Kids Session

In our Kids Rookie Session, kids build on their first surfing experiences and continue developing their feel for the wave. In a safe environment and with age-appropriate coaching, they consolidate the fundamentals of paddling, take-off, and board control, while gaining their first experience with directional changes on the wave.
